FULL HAIR LOOK EVEN WHEN YOU ARE BALD---SMP

Scalp MicroPigmentation (SMP)
Scalp MicroPigmentation (SMP) is a permanent cosmetic ‘tattoo’ that mimics the very short hairs of a closely shaved scalp. It is a new and innovative technique that offers an alternative styling option for men who do not want or are not candidates for hair transplant surgery.
With the entire head shaved, Scalp Micro Pigmentation is a look that is a bold statement of confidence. It looks natural even under close scrutiny. It creates the appearance of a close shave or a short buzz cut over the entire scalp and we expertly create a natural looking hair line, something that we have been doing with hair transplants for two decades. It is a permanent ‘concealer’ medically tattooed on the scalp with special pigments and an alternative to the topical daily applications of powders, fibers and other cosmetic concealers (such as Toppik or DermMatch). SMP eliminates the hassle of frequent applications, messy transfer of product onto clothing, sheets or pillow cases and the anxiety of being in close contact with people.
SMP can be used for a variety of scalp conditions that include: genetic androgenic alopecia (AGA) otherwise known as male pattern balding (MPB), scarring alopecias from a variety of autoimmune diseases of the scalp (e.g. alopecia areata, alopecia totalis), and scarring from neurosurgical procedures or burns.  It is also used to manage the unnatural appearance that is associated with outdated hair transplant procedures. This is a non-surgical procedure carried out by experienced hair restoration surgeons and qualified staff. We offer the option to have the procedure performed under local anesthesia.

SMP is a great adjunct to hair transplant surgery by creating a thicker look to the transplanted area. Today’s hair transplant surgery can create a completely natural appearance using your own hair to provide fullness in thinning areas. This process adds to the look of fullness by reducing the contrast between your scalp and your hair color. It can also camouflage scars found on the scalp including those that form from ‘strip harvesting’.

The SMP technique is dependent on highly specialized and artistic skills. It requires a clinical understanding which professionally blends the process with the problem being addressed. We use specialized instruments and pigments to accomplish this and it is performed by hair transplant surgeons and qualified staff who are specifically trained to deliver the highest quality service available anywhere today.
  You’ll love this look
The photographs shown above are not operated cases but this procedure “Scalp Micro-Pigmentation “ (SMP) will give you the look similar to the look of the people in these pics.

HAIR TRANSPLANTATION

 Hair transplantation

Hair Transplantation has evolved over the years. We adopt the Latest State of The Art Follicular Unit Extraction(FUE) and Follicular Unit Transplantation(FUT) Technology . The technology is very patient friendly , hassle free with zero complications. It is a Walk- in Walk-out Day care procedure with no admission. No rest is needed and one can resume work the very next day if needed !

Day of Surgery :

You should take a head bath, eat your regular breakfast and drive to our clinic in your own vehicle. You can drive back safely home later in the evening. An attendant is not mandatory. But if there is one you want to accompany you, that person can come along with you. Most of our patients come alone.
After filling up consent form and finishing all the formalities, you are ushered to your room and given surgical dress to change into. Dr. John  will come over, check your blood pressure and vital signs and discuss the surgical plan with you. You are given pre- medication and hair is trimmed as per the need and escorted to the surgical theatre.
We keep playing the popular FM stations and you can relax listening to the latest music on the radio.

Donor Harvesting :

Since the permanent non balding donor hair is at the back of your head, you are made to lie face down with the forehead comfortably placed on a prone pillow . This is the only time you will be lying in this way. During the rest of the procedure, you shall be lying on your back.
We use innovative technique to minimize the pain of local anesthesia which is followed by strip harvesting. Trichophytic closure ensures a fine scar after healing. The whole procedure takes 45 minutes to an hour. The patient is sent back to his room where he/ she can lie down normally making phone calls, watching TV or simply dozing off. The attendant is allowed in the room while the patient is resting there.

Dissection of Follicular Units :

The donor strip is microscopically dissected first into slivers and then the inter follicular tissue is removed creating naturally occurring Follicular Units. Each unit contains one to three and occasionally four hairs.

Hair Canal Creation & Implantation :

The bald area is anesthetized and Dr. John  skillfully draws natural looking hair line design and creates hair canals in the bald area of the patient's scalp and the follicular units are carefully and deftly implanted into the hair canals in a precise manner creating a natural appearance at the hair line and giving a fuller look behind. This could take two and half hours or more depending on the area of coverage.
No  bandage is placed on the head and the patient goes back to his room and changes the surgical dress. Tea / coffee is offered and medication for the next five days is given. All the precautions to be taken are explained and the patient is sent home.

Follow Up :

No bandage. The patient is mobile and no bed rest is needed on the second day. The patient can go sight seeing, movie watching and shopping on the second day with out any restriction. Out station patients can leave Hyderabad soon after .
For those in Hyderabad, Hair wash is given on fifth day and surgical staples at the donor area are removed after two weeks. Out station patients can do so at their place. Any general surgeon would remove the staples. Dr. John  is accessible to the surgeon on mobile explaining the type of staples used.
Free follow up visits are advised after three months, six months and ten months. Meanwhile, Dr.John  is accessible to his patients either on Telephone or e-mail

FAQs in hair transplantation

How does hair transplantation work?Hair transplantation is really about relocating (transplanting) the bald resistant hair follicles from the back of the head to the balding areas on the top of the head.
This process works for a lifetime because the hair follicles taken from the back of the head are genetically resistant to baldness, regardless of where they are relocated to.

Will my hair transplant results look completely natural?
Hair Transplant Patient
Hair transplantation, when done right, can be so natural that even your hair stylist will not know that you've had it done.
But the skill and techniques of hair transplant surgeons does vary widely, as do their results. It's important to choose the right procedure and clinic to assure that you will get completely natural results.
The state of art hair transplantation procedure that we recommend is called "Follicular Unit Hair Transplantation".

How long does a hair transplant procedure take?
A typical session of between 1,500 to 3,000 grafts normally involves a full day of surgery on an out patient basis. Most patients will arrive in the morning and will have their procedure completed by late afternoon.

Does the hair transplant procedure hurt?
Patients are given local anesthesia in the donor and recipient areas. Most patients find that once the anesthesia is given that they feel no pain or discomfort during the surgery. Following surgery patients will typically feel some amount of soreness and numbness, with some mild discomfort. Most patients are pleasantly surprised by how minimal the discomfort from the surgical procedure is.

What does a hair transplant cost?
Today hair restoration clinics typically provide free no obligation consultations, with surgical sessions priced either per graft or by the session. Prices typically average around $5 to $6 per graft.
It is normal for the price per graft to drop as the size of the surgical session increases. Many clinics will offer a reduced rate per graft once a certain surgical session size (i.e. 1,000 or 2,000 grafts) is exceeded.

How many grafts/hairs will I need?
The amount of grafts you will need ultimately depends on your degree of hair loss, now and in the future, and on how full you desire your hair to be.

What is the recovery/healing time?
With today’s very refined micro hair transplantation procedure the incisions are very small and less invasive than past procedures. This results in more rapid healing. Most patients feel fine within a day or two following surgery, although some numbness and mild soreness can be expected for several days following surgery.

Will people know I had a hair transplant?
Immediately following surgery a patient’s recipient area is typically pink with scabs forming around the micro incisions. These hundreds of tiny incisions will heal rapidly within a week to ten days.
During the first few days after the surgery a person’s hair transplants will be noticeable if there is no previous hair to mask these temporary scabs. However, most patients feel comfortable being in public without wearing a hat within 5 to 7 days following surgery.
Once the transplanted hair grows out the results should look entirely natural, even under close examination.

When will my newly transplanted hair start to grow?
Normally it takes between three to five months following surgery before the transplanted hair follicles begin to grow new hair. The transplanted hair grows in very thin initially and gradually grows thicker and fuller over time. After one year a patient’s transplanted hair will be fully mature and will continue to grow for a life time.

Are the results permanent?
Since the hair follicles that are transplanted to the balding areas are genetically resistant to going bald, they will continue to grow for a life time – just as if they had been left in the bald resistant donor area.

How do I find an excellent hair restoration surgeon?
Hair Restoration Surgeons
The most important decision in restoring your hair is the physician you choose. The skill, talent, and experience of hair restoration physicians vary widely, as do the end results. Who you choose will determine how natural and full your new hair will be for the rest of your life.

HAIR LOSS IN MEN

stop hair loss - Get to know your enemy.

To overcome hair loss you first need to understand the cause of hair loss. Then you can move on to stopping and reversing it.
genetic hairloss
For the vast majority of men who are loosing their hair (95 percent) their hair loss is genetic. It has nothing to do with wearing tight caps or combing too much or too little.
How vulnerable we are to hair loss or not is largely preprogrammed into our genes before birth.
But our genetic fate can be altered by using an effective hair loss treatment like Propecia or hair restoration surgery.
How does hair loss occur?

Baldness is largely the result of certain hormones interacting over time with those hair follicles that are vulnerable to their effects.
For men who are experiencing thinning hair, their follicles on the top of the head are genetically vulnerable to baldness. Over time, these genetically vulnerable follicles are acted upon by the hormone DHT. This hormone binds with the receptor sites of these vulnerable follicles and causes a miniaturization of the hair shaft and follicle over time.
This process of hair loss gradually breaks down the follicles' ability to grow healthy, thick hair. The resulting baldness is commonly known as "Male Pattern Baldness".
How you can stop or reverse hair loss.
Hair loss drugs like Propecia work by inhibiting the creation of DHT in our bodies. By reducing the amount of DHT that can affect a man's hair follicles hair loss can be slowed or even stopped. Propecia is FDA approved and can only be prescribed by a physician. To find a hair restoration physician in your area to determine if Propecia is right for you, click here.
Hair restoration surgery works by relocating the bald resistant hair follicles from the back of the head to the balding areas on top. Because the transplanted hair follicles retain their genetic resistance to DHT and balding they continue to grow for a life time

.
Hair Loss – the effects are more than skin deep.

A 1992, researchers from the Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia surveyed 145 balding men and found that 84% were preoccupied with baldness.
According to a 1995 article in the “British Journal of Psychology,” balding men have been found to have lower levels of self-esteem than their peers, are less sociable, suffer more from depression, and are less likely to succeed in life.
